Dock's Oyster House: Fresh Seafood in an Upscale Atmosphere

Jan 11, 2010

Dock's Oyster House has been serving up incredibly fresh seafood in Atlantic City since 1897, making it more than a city icon-- it's a fundamental New Jersey cornerstone. This landmark eatery's interior is rich with robust carpentry, deep color scheme and low-lighting: The perfect dinner spot for a romantic date.

Dock's raw bar is a dream come true for die-hard seafood lovers. Nearly a dozen varieties of fresh oysters are available year-round, featuring selections like Quonset Points, Wellfleets, Cape May Salts, Blue Points and SaddleBrooks.

In addition to oysters, the raw bar also features much-loved favorites like tuna tartare with avocado, cucumbers, chives, sesame and wasabi; jumbo shrimp cocktail with Dock's house-made cocktail sauce; crabmeat cocktail with dijon aioli; shrimp seviche in citrus juice with jalenpenos; and clams on-the-half shell with lemons and cocktail sauce.

Of course, Dock's also features delicious appetizers that are sure to keep you coming back for more. From the Clams Casino with bacon, peppers, butter and lemon, to the crab and corn chowder with jalepeno cream sauce, there is a delicious appetizer waiting to tease your taste buds at Dock's.

For your main entree, try the Beef and Reef: a glorious compilation of grilled-to-perfection filet mignon and a broiled lobster tail with freshly-drawn butter, or the pan-sauteed crab cakes with red pepper puree.

Meat lovers will also love the 26 ounce bone-in ribeye "Cowboy" steak, as well as the herb-crusted rack of lamb.

Lobster fiends rejoice: Dock's features whole lobsters up to a whopping 6.5 pounds, served steamed or broiled with freshly-drawn butter for dipping.

The wine selection at Dock's is diverse and compliments the fantastic seafood beautifully. Many vintage imports are available.

Business dress is required at Dock's, as are reservations. For information, call (609) 345-0092.
